How do you add a cancellation feature in Storekeeper?

Updated Jul 2, 2026 · 33 views

As of June 19, 2026, all online stores will be legally required to offer a clearly visible and easy-to-use cancellation feature. This means that canceling a purchase must be just as easy as placing it. If this feature is missing from your website, you run the risk of the legal cooling-off period for consumers being extended to as long as one year.

In this guide and accompanying video, you’ll see our suggestion for the cancellation feature in the website builder. This is purely an example: feel free to copy it exactly or give it your own unique twist. Follow the steps below to easily set up a cancellation button in Storekeeper.

Setting Up a Cancellation Feature

Step 1: Choose the location on your website In Storekeeper, you can display the right of withdrawal feature on your website in various ways.

  • Option 1: Add a link to the cancellation page in your website’s header menu.

  • Option 2: Add a section called “content” and select the “rich text” block within it. Place a piece of text with a clear button on your website, for example, with the text “Confirm your cancellation here.”

Step 2: Create a new cancellation page For the feature to work, you need a specific page. In the system, go to Pages, click the option to add a new page, and give it a clear title.

Step 3: Set up the form On the new page, allow customers to enter their information to initiate the cancellation. You have two options here:

  1. Place an explanatory text above a contact form.

  2. Include the required information directly in the contact form itself.

Make sure the form includes fields for first and last name and an email address. The visitor can then fill in the information and click the “Submit” button.

Step 4: Manage Cancellations via the Inbox As soon as customers request cancellations, they are received in the system.

  • Go to the App Store in Storekeeper and search for the Inbox app.

  • When you open Inbox, you’ll see an overview of all incoming messages. Here, you’ll see the customer’s contact information, such as who sent the message and their phone number.

  • This system works similarly to a ticket system. You can set priorities or assign specific messages to a colleague. This allows you to manage all returns and cancellations in an organized manner.
