In StoreKeeper, you use product add-ons to link additional options, flavors, upgrades, or related accessories to a product.
Before you start setting up your product range, it’s helpful to know exactly which type of add-on best suits your products. Below, we explain what each option in StoreKeeper means, so you can make the right choice before you get started. Already know which option you want to use? Overview of StoreKeeper Add-on Options
1. Single Option
What does it do? The customer may (or can) select only one add-on from the list. Once one is chosen, a second one cannot be selected.
How to use it? Ideal for mutually exclusive choices.
Flavors: Choose the base sauce for a dish (either Mayo, Ketchup, or Satay sauce).
Products: Choose which type of free protective film you want with a phone case (Matte or Glossy).
2. Multiple Options
What does it do? The customer can select multiple extras at once. This is the perfect module for increasing the receipt total.
How to use it? * Expansion packs / Accessories: For the base item (e.g., a console or board game), the customer can immediately select [x] Expansion Pack A, [x] Expansion Pack B, and [x] Carrying Case.
Flavors: Extra toppings you can combine (e.g., [x] Extra Cheese and [x] Bacon).
3. Required Add-On
What does it do? The system requires the employee (or online store visitor) to select an add-on. You cannot check out or add the product to the shopping cart without making this selection.
How to use it? * Flavors: If an ice cream or dish comes with one flavor by default, the “Choose your base flavor” add-on is required.
Products: For a specific device that doesn’t work without the corresponding battery or license, link it here as a required add-on.
4. Add-on with customer image upload
What does it do? An upload button specific to this add-on appears, allowing a customer to attach an image to their order.
How to use it for a cake: The customer orders a birthday cake and checks the “Custom photo on edible photo paper” add-on.
On the website: An upload button appears immediately, allowing the customer to upload a photo of the birthday person.
In-store: The cashier can upload the photo provided by the customer (for example, via email or QR code) directly through the POS system. The photo is now permanently linked to the cake order for the bakery.
5. Add-on with Customer Text
What does it do? A blank text field specific to this add-on opens, into which text can be typed manually.
How to use it for a cake: The customer checks the “Personalized chocolate text” add-on next to the cake.
On the website / In-store: A text field opens where the customer (or the cashier) types the exact text, for example: “Happy 50th Birthday, Abraham!” This text is printed verbatim on the receipt and the production order for the baker. This prevents misunderstandings and spelling errors on the cake.
6. Bundle
What does it do? You combine the main product and the add-ons (such as the case and the expansion packs) into a single bundle at a special price.
How to use it? The “Starter Kit”: Main Product + Case + 1 Expansion Pack. In the warehouse and inventory system, the individual add-ons are properly accounted for, but the customer sees it as one great deal. We hope this is clear.
